In One Brief Moment All Eternity is the new novel from Elif Shafak arriving this October. The novel tells the story of Gustave Flaubert and his unforgettable novel Madame Bovary through the lives of thirty women, both real and fictional, who shaped him across decades and continents. Set against a world marked by warfare, political unrest, siege, and starvation, the novel moves from revolutionary 19th-century France to Istanbul, Egypt, and Beirut.
Japanese horror writer Koji Suzuki, whose novel Ring helped redefine horror fiction and launched the global wave of “J-Horror,” has died at 68 in Tokyo. Beyond Ring, Suzuki built a career blending psychological dread with speculative fiction, beginning with his award-winning debut Paradise in 1990 and continuing with Spiral, which earned the Eiji Yoshikawa Literary Newcomer Award.
Florence Pugh will star in the movie adaptation of The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. The novel was published in 2020 and sold over 15 million copies.
